QUALIFIED BUILDING OFFICIAL

To be qualified as a building or plumbing official after February 28, 2021 an individual must:

pass the required exams;
be a member of the Association in good standing;
submit an application to the Association;
pay the annual registration fee;
be entered into the online register of qualified building officials that is maintained on the Association website;
complete any required code update training; and
obtain the required number of continuing professional development credits on an annual basis.

CERTIFIED BUILDING OFFICIAL

To be certified as a building or plumbing official, an individual must:

be qualified at the level(s) of certification being applied for;
obtain the required experience; and
submit an application to the Association.
